CULTURAL EVENTS
1991 - Participated in the Latin-American Cultural Festival,
Dallas, TX
1992 - Participated in the International Bazaar in Addison,
TX
1993 - Sponsored a Concert of Mundo Soloists at the Meyerson
Symphony Center, Dallas
1994 - Sponsored an Art Show at North Park with the participation
of 30 Colombian Painters showing 60 paintings.
1995 - Donated four Scholarships to children of the members
of the Association.
1996 - The Association's Dance Group "Estampas" performed at
the Dallas Education Center.
1997 - Sponsored the performance of "Land of Contrasts" by the
Houston Colombian Folkloric Ballet at the Carpenter Performance
Hall in the Irving Arts Center.
1997 - Participated in the International Soccer Competition
of "Legendarios"
1998 - Sponsored the performance of "Cantatierra" a Musical
Group from Tolima, Colombia
1998 - Participated in the "Hispanic Salute" by nominating a
member of the Association who made outstanding contributions
to the education of the Hispanic community.
1999 - Presented works by Colombian Artists associated with
"FUNDARTE"
1999 - Sponsored a conference by Jaime Jaramillo President of
the Foundation "Niņos de los Andes".
2000 - Sponsored a "tiple" concert by David Puerta
2001 - The Association took part in the First Convention of
Colombian Organizations in the USA realized in Atlanta the first
week of May. The Convention was to promote the unity and the
integration of the Colombian Organizations in the United States
of America, seeking to create a strong political and economic
body with the power to help the economic and social development
of our country, while improving the living conditions of the
Colombians residing in the USA. To respond to the needs of the
Colombians that arrive in the Dallas/Fort Worth, the Association
has created several committees: Education and Social Wellness,
Commerce, Communications and Public Relations, Welcoming and
Affiliation, Professionals, Cultural and Artistic Events, Fund
Raising, Directory, and Sports. |
